The last few weeks as I have been leaving my local Loblaws I have seen ads all over talking about Click & Collect. I don't know what this is, but in my usual apathetic fashion I ignore it and move on with my life. The last time I went grocery shopping I see a video while I'm waiting in line - my interest is piqued. "Can it really be that easy?" I ask myself with a moderate amount of glee. I love these sorts of "innovations" - shopping online is great - it's easy, comfortable, gives me time to think, and, best of all, I don't have to deal with random people (no offense random people, I'm sure you're very nice!). The website is set up a bit like Netflix with horizontal scrolling food options. Each "aisle" has its own page with categories within the aisle shown. So I've decided to try and sum up my week and get into the habit of blogging with the hope that eventually something useful to others will come out of it. I will do my best to make this brief. This week was reasonably busy and exciting. It started with the first trivia night offered by The Brooklyn (their Twitter or Facebook ). Our team pulled together, but alas, it wasn't enough to take the win in any of the rounds despite our best attempts. We had some delicious beers (pictured with a vodka cranberry (to add colour?)). Their was a power outage at Queen's University, where I work / study, on Tuesday because of a squirrel of all things. The outage only lasted ~20 minutes for most. Our lab is equipped with an emergency power backup, so thankfully we still had internet and power for external monitors (the sarcasm likely does not come through appropriately here).
